Our History

The Yunus Brothers Group (YBG) one of the largest conglomerate of Pakistan, collaborated with the Government and laid the foundations of Gadoon Textile Mills Limited (GTML) in 1988.

(GTML) has always strived to touch the summit of excellence and growth. The details of our company’s history showcases our journey and challenges we have faced and serve as a roadmap for future accomplishments and success.

  • The Company started commercial production by producing poly/cotton yarn with 14,400 spindles.
  • The number of spindles increased to 64,800.
  • The number of spindles increased to 128,160.
  • Introduced “Compact Spinning” with 15,840 spindles for the first time in Pakistan.

●  Pioneered and set up “Jet Spinners” in the Country.
●  Replaced diesel generators with gas generators.
●  The number of spindles increased to 194,392.
●  Acquired 14 acres of land for erecting additional sheds and underground water reservoirs.

●  Set up an additional production facility at Karachi.
●  Performed marvelously despite the global financial meltdown.

●  Planned investment in an environment-friendly 50 MW Wind Power Project.
●  Started commercial operations at Karachi Plant and increased installed capacity to 245,000 spindles.
●  Acquired assets of another textile mill located in Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate.
●  Invested in shares of ICI Pakistan Limited.
●  Acquired new electric generators based on natural gas to enhance power generation capacity.
●  Signed PC contract to generate an additional 2.66 MW based on Waste Heat Recovery.
●  Fazal Textile Mills Limited (FTML) merged with and into GTML.
●  The number of spindles increased to around 321,000 under the merger of FTML.

●  Installation of state-of-the-art equipment’s and machinery within the plant.
●  For the sake of sustainable environment and community, invested in wind projects and announced investments in solar and hydel projects.
●  Successful operation of the Waste Heat Recovery and RO Water Plants at the manufacturing site.
●  Entrance into the Dairy Industry to conquer the potential of the untapped market.

●  Construction of new facility for knitting division.
●  Successful expansion of dairy segment.
●  Installed capacity of spindles increased to 350,000.
●  Planned investment the expansion of the state-of-the-art value added segment at factory site.
●  Installation and expansion of waste heat boiler.
● Established a vertically integrated dyeing facility with substantial variety of products.
